Our Story

Rara Books was born from a deep-rooted desire to make sure my children feel a strong sense of belonging to the roots they come from. I grew up in Nepal, and I'm raising my two children, Neer and Zoya, in the United States. I wanted them to feel connected to their culture and heritage.Speaking the same language is the key to belonging. When you speak the same language, you don't just communicate — you feel connected, deeply and genuinely, to the people you share it with. You feel you are part of a culture and a heritage that is yours.Nepali culture is rich, layered, and thousands of years old. If you are raising your children away from Nepal, I see you. I feel the same responsibility — the same longing to give our children as much culture and language as we can, while building a life far from home.
